Data Protection and Privacy Act (DPPA)
The DPPA is a law that regulates the collection and processing of personal data in Uganda. It protects the privacy and rights of individuals whose data is collected by various entities, such as businesses, organisations or public bodies. The DPPA requires data collectors, processors and controllers to follow certain principles and obligations, such as obtaining consent, ensuring accuracy, security and confidentiality, and providing access and rectification rights to data subjects. Ducara can help you comply with the DPPA by conducting a data protection audit, developing a data protection policy, providing training and awareness, and offering ongoing support and guidance.
